Boho Backpack - Crochet Pattern

I love handmade purses and bags! I think they are a great way to show off your personality and tote your stuff around. Some of my favorite bags have a simple, clean, casual design. This pattern embodies that idea. It's a great everyday bag and can be worn as a backpack or over one shoulder like a purse.

Crochet 101: How to Crochet for Beginners. Crochet is a fantastic new handwork skill to try: it requires minimal materials, it’s easy to master, and it’s the perfect activity to make you feel like you’re being at least a little bit productive during your next Netflix binge. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll find yourself flying through scarves, blankets and all manners of warm and wonderful handmade things. Let’s get started!

These are small baskets that could be used to store stationery items, paperclips, coins, buttons, etc. They could easily be made bigger by scaling up the crochet hook and twine. It’s fun to make the mini ones in multiples. I also have made these in the past for business card holders when I do craft sales. Enjoy!

The bag body is made in one piece, starting with the base. You will add a row of single crochet around the edge of the base, then work in the round up the sides. The flap is then worked back and forth in rows. The shoulder strap and buckle straps are made separately in contrasting yarn and sewn on at the end.
