With heatnbond I’ve pressed together warm&natural and exterior fabric. But if you use a sew on interfacing remember to repeat step 1 on the interfacing and to baste with a zigzag the interfacing and the exterior fabric together.
Exterior fabric (bag):
Fold right sides together and place the pattern (after the collage) on the wrong side. Use the pin to secure and mark. repeat on the other side of the folded fabric and another time. You’ll have 2 main panels.
Match the seams of the 2 panels, right sides together, and pin them in place. Pin the sides and the bottom. Fold the fabric following the scheme (front view)
Sew the sides and the bottom. Cut at 0,5 cm. Sew the creases with little stitches. Just to secure.
Match the side and the bottom seams, pin in place and pin following the mark..
Sew and cut at 0,5 cm. Repeat for the other corner.
Inside view turning rightside out the bag.
Fabric for interior (lining):
Fold right sides together and place the pattern on the wrong side. Use the pin to secure and mark the
pattern, repeat on the other side and another time. You’ll have 2 main panels.
Pocket:
Mark warm&natural, exterior and the interior fabric with the pocket patterns.
Match the exterior fabric and warm&natural. Place the pins of the creases following the pattern.
Fold the fabric as done in picture 2 and place 2 pins to secure. Stitch in place.
Place right sides together the exterior fabric and the interior fabric. Baste with pins.
Sew all around leaving a 4-5 cm opening. Cut at 0,5 cm, and turn.
Press with your iron, close the opening by hand.
Place the pocket on the right side of the lining panel. Pin and sew it in place.
Match the marks of the 2 lining panels. Baste with pins, leaving a 10 cm opening on the bottom.
Sew the sides and the bottom, cut at 0,5 cm and close the corners. (see Pictures 1-5)
Press all the seams. Attach the magnetic snap. The lining is ready!
Place and sew to secure the handles in your desidered position at your preferred lenght.
Turn the exterior of the bag wrong side out. Slide inside the bag the lining, wrong side out.
The right sides are facing. Match the side seams and baste with pins all around the upper edge. Sew. Cut at 1 cm. Turn the bag using the opening.
It’s time if you want to place and secure a bottom at the corners of the bag (a piece heavyweight interfacing will be perfect).
Press the seams and close the opening with little stitches. Sew all around the upper edge at 0,5 cm
and the bag it’s finished.
Have fun sewing!
A bit of help with the handles would be highly appreciated here. You just skipped out on that??!
