I'm not kidding. Itty bitty. I don't think it will hold very many coins, but it's oh, so cute!
I received the little frame with the keychain attached from Wholeport.
I've never made a coin purse with a latch before, but was willing to give it a shot.
First, I needed a pattern.
I started by tracing around the top of the clasp and marking where it's hooked together.
After that was drawn, I drew a shape for the bottom.
Cut 2 pieces each of your outer and lining fabric and 2 of iron on interfacing and iron it to the outside pieces.
Now you're going to sew your outer and lining pieces right sides together.
Only stitch around from the place where the clasp meets to the other side that you marked.
Leave a small opening in the bottom of the lining to turn.
Turn your outer piece right side out and insert it into your living.
Stitch along the top (between the two marks).
Turn through the opening you left in the lining and then sew it shut.
Push lining down in and press.
Slip your purse up into the frame.
I put tacky glue in the frame to help hold it in while I sewed.
Using embroidery thread, sew your frame on.
I went one way first and then came back to make sure every hole was filled.
I can't wait to make a regular size coin purse with a clasp now.
I figure if I can make it through this tiny one, a bigger size would be much easier!
Have a great day!
Love your coin purse--your tutorial was clear and well done!
