Abby has been wanting me to share a tutorial for the pooch pouch I made for her when we attended doggie obedience school.
(Besides the materials listed above you will also need 2 - 5 1/2" x 6" Pellon Fusible Fleece or similar material)
As shown in photo above sew top band to each main bag piece along long edges, creating the front and back of your pooch pouch. Open and press seams either open or in one direction. Your choice.
Attach PFF to wrong side of your pouch units according to package directions. I stitched in the ditch along the top band after fusing the PFF.
Using 1/4" seam allowance sew lining pieces RST (right sides together) along both 5 1/4" sides and bottom, leaving an opening for turning.
Sew main pouch units together in the same manner. Clip corners on pouch and lining units. Press seams open on lining unit.
To make tab
1. Fold in half, long edges matching. Press to crease.
2. Open and fold each long edge towards center crease. Press again to crease.
3. Fold in half again and press to crease.
Stitch along open edge of tab. Then slip tab through ring. You can omit the split ring and loop directly through the clasp hardware.
Pin then baste tab/ring unit on center back of pouch.
With RST place lining inside pouch, matching side seams and pinning well to prevent shifting. Stitch around top edge using 1/4" - 1/2" seam allowance. Your preference.
Turn right side through opening in lining. Turning tools are handy.
Sew lining closed then tuck lining inside pouch. Press around top edge then top stitch around edge to secure lining.
