This is such a quick and easy way to hem jeans!
It is GREAT for kids jeans too….I’ll show you at the end but the hem can be undone so when they grow and need the length back..YOU HAVE IT!
What you will need :
Jeans
Pins
Sewing Machine
The How to:
Start by putting the jeans on your “model” {thank you husband}
Pin the jeans 1/4″ shorter than you want them to be
You can see how much I folded these up
Next (with out undoing your fold) bend the original hem down to the bottom of your fold
pin in place all around
It will look like these once you are done pinning
Now sew right along the fold and the original bottom hem
(i used a zig zag stitch but you don’t have to)
now repeat the same thing on your other leg
see you can’t even tell :)
Now here’s the great thing about this type of NO CUTTING hem…
When you need them longer again
(lets say when your child grows)
simply unpick the hem
and you still have the full original pant!
Just wash and iron down smooth!
Great way to save money in alterations or having to buy jeans they grow out of so fast!!
