DIY: Sew Baby Rattle

DIY: Sew Baby Rattle

Did you know babies (from 0-6months) are very excited about high contrasts? That’s what they see the most. I designed the perfect baby toy for it! Black and White! One side polka dot, one side stripes, stripy tags to chew on and 2 jingle bells inside for the little noise!

The body is about 7.5in x 3.5in. It is easy to grab for baby hands and it’s very light.

What you need:

    10×6 in of fabric 1
    10×6 in of fabric 2
    2 buttons
    stuffing
    ribbon
    2 jingle bells
    sewing machine
    pinky sheers

1. Cut out the fabric following the pattern (Baby Rattle Pattern) and sew the buttons.

2. Put the right sides together and add the three loops of ribbons in between the two layers. Sew along the seam (black line) leaving a space. Cut the excess fabric with the pinky sheers.

3. Turn it upside down and fill it with stuffing. Use a pencil to reach the extremities.

4. Use an invisible seam/ ladder-stitch (by hand) to sew the hole closed. TADA! Two sides for twice more fun!
