Woodland Mushroom Quilt Block Pattern

This block uses half-square triangles to make a sweet image of a Woodland Mushroom and is very scrap-friendly. Use solids or prints to create your next forest quilt!

You might not be a fan of applique, but fear not! These Gather blocks can be sewn onto the background fabric by machine too. I used clear monofilament on this block so that the colors of the individual pentagons would still stand out and the color of the stitching would be minimal.

I opted to create a true translation of autumn with my block, Forest Floor. It captures the essence of the ground cover going dormant while fallen leaves are scattered all about. And even though it’s not necessarily my “go to” type of pattern that I often gravitate toward, I pretty much love it to pieces!

My Flutterby block is foundation paper pieced and sews up quickly with just three simple sections. The pattern includes the butterfly as shown and reversed so your butterfly can head East or West!
