Twinkle Twinkle Quilt Block Tutorial

I saw this block several weeks ago on flickr and fell in love immediately. I wanted to make one that afternoon. But wait! The creator did not write anything in the photo description! No name of the block, no link to a tutorial, no reference to the creator. If I am to make this block, I need to break it all down and work out the math for myself. To save you the same trouble, I thought I would share it with you in a tutorial. Now, if any of you know the name and have a link to the original tutorial, please please please do leave it in a comment below. Credit where credit is due. Until then, we’ll call this block Twinkle Twinkle. Let’s get started.

I think this guy is so darn cute. If a big eyeball, crazy mouth, and ribbon hair is considered cute. :)

I started out with a simple shape, and then I cut out a mouth. You don’t need to cut out a mouth, but I wanted a place for a baby to grab on to and hold the toy easily. I wanted one huge eyeball so I cut that out of some scrap fabric.

It has been a while since the Business Card Holder has made its way to its own blog post! As I was listing my last batch into my shop.
I thought it might be time to switch things up a bit and add a little
bit more pizzazz to the ‘ol card holder. And, a ruffle was born!
